How to install Fedora 13

1. Download the Fedora 13 Installation ISO of your choice.
   
   1. Visit the Fedora 13 download site: http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-all
   2. Select either the 32 bit (i386) or 64 bit (x86_64) Install DVD under Install Media > Direct Download.
   3. Click Save File.
   4. Select a location to save the file that you will remember and click Save.
2. Burn the .iso file to a dvd or any other bootable media.
3. Insert the bootable media and start the computer, you should get a Fedora 13 install menu.
4. Press [ENTER] to install a new system or upgrade an existing system.
5. Media Test
   
   1. Select OK to test the cd media or Skip to skip the media test.
6. Fedora 13 Graphical Install
   
   1. Click Next at the Fedora 13 screen.
   2. Select your desired language and click Next.
   3. Select the appropriate keyboard for your system and click Next.
   4. Select the Basic Storage Devices option and click Next.
   5. Hard Drive Initialization
      
      1. If your hard drive has never been partitioned or is partitioned with a schema unfamiliar to Fedora 13, you will get a "Warning" dialog box explaining that your hard drive must be Re-Initialized.  Click the Re-Initialize button (WARNING: REINITIALIZING WILL CAUSE ALL DATA TO BE LOST!).
   6. Enter a Hostname for you computer and click Next.
   7. Select the nearest city in your time zone and click Next.
   8. Enter a root password and click Next.
   9. Select the type of installation you would like and click Next.
      
      1. WARNING: The partitioning options you have selected will now be written to disk. Any data on deleted or reformatted partitions will be lost. Click the Write changes to disk button.
   10. Check the Fedora 13 - x86_64 and Fedora 13 - x86_64 - Updates repositories, select the Customize now option and click Next.
   11. Make the following changes to the default software packages and click Next.
       
       • Apllications
         
         • Editors (Remove)
         • Games & Entertainment (Remove)
         • Graphical Internet
           
           • empathy (Remove)
           • evolution (Remove)
           • evolution-help (Remove)
           • filezilla (Add)
           • pino (Remove)
           • transmission (Remove)
         • Graphics (Remove)
         • Office and Productivity (Remove)
         • Sound and Video Remove (Remove)
         • Text-based Internet Remove (Remove)
       • Servers
         • Printing Support (Remove)
   12. Click Reboot to restart the machine.
   13. Click Forward on the Welcome screen.
   14. Click Forward on the License Information screen.
   15. On the Create User screen:
       
       1. Enter the following required fields:
          Username
          Password
          Confirm Password
       2. Click Forward.
   16. On the Date and Time screen
       
       1. Check the Synchronize date and time over the network checkbox.
       2. Click Forward.
   17. On the Hardware Profile screen.
       
       1. Select the Send Profile option.
       2. Click Finish.
